Question for Federationists

Well, obviously as the title says, i have a question for anyone who knows anything about the nfb and can answer it. i am planning to attend college next semester, after a few semesters of being unable to do so. i already have a couple of credits, so I do have some college experience. It hasn't been that long so I still consider myself a student. I enrolled in classes this semester, but had to drop them. I am interested in possibly being elected to an office on the student board, which, obviously you have to be a student for.. My question is: Would I have to be in school this semester in order to achieve this? or would my being in school next semester, which would be the time I am serving, qualify me? Note that most of the current board members know me, but very few know I am not currently in school.
Also, it may work differently for different states, but here is a peace of our constitution, which may be in my favor, but I do not know:
"All officers must be students who are blind and planning to attend an educational program in the academic year following
election."
Also in this constitution, it says that anyone who is an active member, which is a member who pays dues, which i believe I am, can vote, serve on committees, and hold office. So Does this mean that going to school next semester would be ok, as long as I am enrolled, or does it mean I have to be in school now? I would have been if it hadn't been for certain unwelcome circumstances, but I am enrolled in school in Austin, although not currently in class, and hoping to be enrolled here by the time state convention comes next month.
All help appreciated thanks!

I would think that you are available to serve on the TABS board, but why not get in contact with Tommy Craig, the Texas affiliate president to make sure.

Good luck

Thanks a bunch! Yeah I'd think so to, but I'm a little hesitant! Anyway, thanks for the luck!

no need to be hesitant; that's what he's there for...to help anyone in need! that's what we're all here for, in fact.

Yeah that is true! Well the more I think about it, i believe I do qualify, as i've stated earlier, the constitution says that any active member can serve, and an active member is someone who pays the dues and votes and serves on committees and all of that. And I have always been able to do that in the past, and haven't been told anything. I feel i've played important rolls with the board even outside of it. This year, I helped with some of the fund raising, and my aunt donated about 13 dollars to add to that, and so my help did pay off! I'm not trying to sound like I'm bragging, but I think I have what it takes, and a lot of people here in Texas know me, and I just think I can do it, and would like to be given a chance!
